G6-WHO WE ARE?

Dear all

Welcome to our monthly Grade 6 blog, where we embark on an exciting exploration of self-discovery and understanding through the lens of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) unit, “Who We Are.”

The Central Idea for the first IB unit “Who we are” is learning about the functions of our bodies is an essential step toward understanding ourselves. With the three lines of inquiry:

1. The start of human life [evolution of humans; human civilizations] (change)

2. Human body systems and their functions (function)

3. Taking care of our bodies (responsibility)

A fascinating exploration of the intricate machinery that keeps us alive and thriving -our body systems. We embarked on a journey through the wondrous world within us, unraveling the mysteries of our skeletal structure ,the power of our muscles ,the rhythm of our heart ,and much more.

Besides that, our physical education lessons were not only a great way to stay active and healthy but also to have fun and enjoy time with each other.

Crafting a timeline poster tracing personal growth from childhood to the present was a creative endeavor and a reflective one. It offered an opportunity to celebrate milestones, reflect on experiences, and acknowledge personal development.

Creating a visual representation of our thoughts could help us to express ourselves. Whether through words, images or symbols, the students could convey their thoughts and emotions in a way that feels authentic to them.

As we wrap up our exploration of “Who We Are” for this month, we’re excited to offer a sneak peek into what’s to come. Stay tuned for next month’s blog, where we’ll dive deeper into different topics . Get ready for another month of discovery, growth, and inspiration!

Thank you for joining us on this journey through the PYP “Who We Are” unit. We hope this month’s blog has provided you with insights, inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the power of self-discovery and understanding. Until next time, keep exploring, keep learning, and keep embracing who you are!

Warm regards
