Hello! I hope that everyone has had a good week, and have been safe. This week, the grade 6 have had a week with monopoly cities, and rice harvesting.
This week, the students continued to focus on the Japanese government and learned a lot more about the local branch of the Japanese government. The students finished off their monopoly cities. and included all the very important institutions in any city.
The students also read an English book of their choice and had to summarize the book that they have read. The aim of this is to encourage students to learn about paraphrasing and how to cite sources from which they get information.
The highlight of the week was harvesting rice. The students went out in the warm weather, and got stuck in the fields where they harvested rice that they had planted in April, earlier this year. Some students did so well and worked hard and that was great to see.
