Grade 3 Decisions and Government!

Greetings everyone, I hope that you have all enjoyed the warmer and more beautiful temperatures.

I certainly have been looking forward to the spring as its been quite a long and cold winter. That being said, with the new season came in a new unit. Unit 6 looks into the decisions we make and how those decisions affect the society we live in.

The first line of inquiry was about the different government systems that humans and nations have used throughout history and some of the government systems that are still used today. Some of the new vocabulary that the students researched and wrote were, ‘Democracy,’ ‘Autocracy,’ and lots of other challenging concepts.

So then our focus for this week, was to have regular discussions about those terms and what they mean, and that helped a lot in the student’s understanding of each concept. I also think that the students took a true liking to learning about political and government terms such as, ‘Socialism,’ and ‘Capitalism.’

We also have been preparing those melodies, and harmonious voices for the music festival on the 10th of March. We look forward to seeing you.

Thank you for your support, have a good weekend and stay safe!
